Testimonials

  • I don’t have any medical bills, I’m receiving revenue for my pain and suffering, and I’m very appreciative. I am truly satisfied with the results of my case.
  • "The best part about having James Murphy as my workers' compensationlawyer is that I have someone to speak for me..."
  • The initial phone call made me feel as though they really cared. They made us feel like a number, and Murphy & Associates didn't. My wife and I have never gone through something like this before and accidents can be devastating to a family because of loss of income, pain and suffering.
  • Murphy & Associates made my experience fast and easy, and got the job done.
  • Murphy & Associates Car Accident Law firm is professional, efficient, and a pleasant experience doing business with.
  • I was involved in a rear-end collision while stopped at a red light. Mr. Murphy and his staff guided me through this long process from obtaining medical treatment to settling with the other party's insurance company.

Post Road Bridge to Reopen Soon

June 17, 2008 - Douglas County Department of Transportation director Randy Hulsey announced Monday (June 16) at the Board of Commissioners (BOC) work session that repairs to Post Road bridge will most likely be completed within two and one-half weeks. Upon completion, the bridge will reopen to traffic, but Hulsey has proposed that it be inaccessible to large trucks.

After spending between $30,000 and $40,000 laying new pavement, replacing steel, rebuilding approaches to the bridge near Dog River, and replacing the deck completely, the BOC may drop the bridge’s load limit from 19 tons to 10 tons. As a result, large trucks would be unable to cross the bridge, but local school buses would still be able to cross (since they weigh under 10 tons). In this case, trucks would use State Highway 5 as an alternative route (as they are doing currently).

The plans for the new bridge will locate it just west of the present bridge, allowing travelers on the two-lane county road (which connects southern Douglas County to Interstate 20) to use the reopened old bridge during the construction of the new one.
