According to Christy Hutchings of the WTOC 11 website, a Savannah area accident between a car and a tractor trailer truck that occurred just before 4:00 p.m. today resulted in flames when the car's gas tank exploded due to the impact of the crash. Ajanta Roy, 58, of Pooler, Georgia, was killed as a result of the collision, although crews were on the scene for hours trying to determine what happened. According to Captain Kevin Tomko with Savannah Fire, responders were unable to free the victim from the vehicle in time to rescue him. The truck driver escaped his own vehicle, and no charges had been filed at the time of the report.
Our law firm expresses our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ajanta Roy. Our thoughts are with you at this most difficult time.
