According to the Cobb County Police Department, the driver of an SUV improperly passed a school bus, then attempted an U-turn in front of the bus, causing an accident. The school bus driver could not have avoided the accident and the SUV driver will be charged. The driver of the SUV, a passenger and two students were transported to a hospital for injuries sustained in the accident. Another student was taken to the hospital by a parent.

The bus accident happened near the intersection of Wooten Lake Road and Joshua Way in Kennesaw, Georgia. The school bus involved in the accident was carrying students from Palmer Middle School. Another school bus arrived on the scene to transport the remaining students home.
