On Sunday, August 7th, a police chase occurred on Fairburn Rd, resulting in the arrest of two men for drug and traffic charges.

The accused driver exceeded 90 mph during the police chase, and "placed ...people on Fairburn Road in danger," states Douglas County Sherriff, Sergeant John Mauney. Thankfully, no one was injured in the chase.

The driver was charged with reckless driving, a series of red light violations, failure to maintain lane, attempts to elude the police, and driving with a suspended license. The two men in the vehicle were charged with possession of a number of drugs, including heroin, hydrocodone, and methamphetamine.

According to Sherriff Mauney, a deputy attempted to stop the vehicle at Lee Road and Forrester Court, but the driver sped off, and police were forced to chase the two men for several miles. When the car was stopped, one man tried to flee the scene. Now in custody, he denies possession of drugs in the vehicle.
