
The Dalton Police Department is still investigating a one-car accident that occurred Friday evening (August 8) around 11:00pm and left one man dead on the scene. According to www.InjuryBoard.com, the driver and a second passenger of a Ford Explorer SUV fled the scene after the vehicle left the roadway on the Hamilton Connector and slammed into a tree. Passenger Rene Olvera Resendiz was pronounced dead on the scene. The website reports that authorities suspect the cause of the accident to be related to speed and alcohol.
InjuryBoard.com requests that any information regarding the two unknown suspects be reported to the Dalton Police Department’s Traffic Enforcement Unit at 706-278-9085, extension 124.
