January 9, 2008 - An eighteen-year-old Douglasville man died Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 166. Luther S. Saintine was a rear-seat passenger in a 2000 Nissan Altima involved in a collision with a 2002 Chevrolet C&500 truck. The Nissan driver, a 17-year-old female, and another passenger, a 17-year-old male, was injured. Both were taken to Wellstar Douglas Hospital. The truck driver was not injured. The Nissan was traveling west on Highway 166 when the driver attempted a left turn onto Autumn Hill Drive into the path of the eastbound truck. The truck struck the Nissan on the rear of the right side. The Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating the accident, and charges are pending.
