On Friday, January 22, 2010, a Liburn resident was involved in an accident caused by texting while driving. According to the police officers on the scene, Soheb Roy, 19 years of age, was texting while driving and crashed into a telephone pole at Arcado Road and Wayside Court in Liburn, Georgia.  Ms. Roy was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center for serious injuries sustained in the auto accident. The impact of the car accident caused the telephone pole to split in two.

Mr. Roy was charged with improper use of a cell phone while driving and failure to maintain the lane.
