The Injured Worker Under Surveillance
What You May Need To Know If Under Surveillance

Type: Workers’ Compensation
We have had numerous clients injured on the job who have been under surveillance by the workers’ compensation insurance carrier. There are some workers’ compensation insurance carriers who will hire investigators to perform surveillance no matter how serious or minor the injury may be.
So how can you avoid having your case destroyed by video surveillance? Well, the first thing is you have to be brutally honest with your lawyer about the extent of your injury. People who have their cases destroyed by video surveillance tend to be the people who are injured but exaggerate the extent of their injury.
The insurance carrier will compare your limitations given to you from your authorized treating physician with what the physical activities they catch on video. So, again if you are telling your physician and attorney, that you can’t go out and do shopping, you can’t lift, you can’t work, and they catch you on a video doing any of these things, it’s going to hurt your case. But it’s not because of what they’ve done, it’s because of your misrepresentation as to your activity level.
At Murphy Law Firm, we represent individuals who have been injured on the job. If you have been injured at work it is important to review your options with an experienced workers’ compensation attorney. Contact a Lithia Springs Workers’ Compensation Attorney today, (770) 577-3020.
