Three People Injured in Head-On Collision in Stephens County, Georgia

Three people were injured in a head-on collison in Stephens County, Georgia, Tuesday, September 9th.  The incident occured on Ga. 17 where it was reported that a Honda CRV crossed the center line of traffic and struck a Ford F-150 head-on. According to witnesses ,a Ford Truck driven by Linda Charpin was traveling south near the town of Avalon when the Honda which was going north crossed the center line.  Matthew Disspain, Ms. Charpin's son, said that his mother did not have time to avoid the head-on collision. There were no skid marks noted at the scene, according to a report by Robin Dake, WNEG AM-630.

Stephens County Hospital admitted Ms. Charpin and her husband with injuries.  As of Tuesday evening, the driver of the Ford F-150 truck had not been identified.  However she was reported to be air-lifted to a hospital in Greenville, South Carolina. Information about her condition was not available from officials as of Tuesday evening.  State Trooper John Crawford of the Georgia State Patrol reported these facts, but the investigation has not yet revealed why the Honda crossed the center line. The accident delayed traffic on Ga. 17 going in both directions.
