Late evening on July 20, 2009, a three-car vehicle crash occurred in Rome, Georgia on Calhoun Road. According to Floyd County Police Department, a Honda Minivan, a Pontiac Grand Prix and a Toyota Scion were involved in the auto accident. The driver of the Toyota Scion, Anna Reeps, 18 years of age, crashed into the Honda Minivan. The driver of the Honda Minivan, Stephanie Blankenship, 43 years of age, and Anna Reeps are both residents of Rome, Georgia. When both vehicles collided, it caused another accident by hitting a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Joyce Phillips, 59 years of age and a resident of Cedar Bluff, Alabama. Ms. Phillips was turning onto Calhoun Road at the time of the accident. The Floyd County Emergency Personnel transported Ms. Phillips by ambulance to Floyd County Medical Center for injuries caused by the car crash.
The auto accident is still under investigation by the Floyd County Police Department.
