Tips for safe travel during the holidays | Georgia Accident Attorney

We tend to see an increase in accidents during the holidays, this is because the winter holidays are some of the busiest travel days of the year. According to the AAA Auto Club, about one in every four southernors will travel more than 50 miles from home during the Christmas and New Year's Day holiday. This is more than any other region in the country.

According to AAA most will be traveling by car, but airports, train and bus stations will be crowded as well. So to stay safe here are some travel tips:

The Metropolitian Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) suggests taking the train to the airport to avoid traffic. The MARTA line ends right in the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport building.

On the roadways, be careful of getting tired after a big meal and then getting behind the wheel as the sun goes down. Its best to try to wait until some calories have been digested. The best time to drive is when you have just had a good sleep and the road is clear and the weather is sunny. AAA also advises that its best to drive during your waking workday schedule and of course don't drive and drive.

Remember that trains also travel during the holiday season.
