Tornado Touches Down in Haralson County

According to the National Weather Service, a small tornado hit Haralson County yesterday morning, Wednesday, December 10, in the midst of many area storms.

This morning, Peachtree City's weather service station issued a statement confirming that the tornado touched down at Haralson County High School. Although it was only on the ground for approximately 150 yards and was an F0, which is the lowest category and describes winds between 40 and 72 mph, the tornado snapped trees, destroyed a scoreboard outside the high school, and caused an HVAC unit to fall from the roof to the cars in the parking lot below.
