April 1, 2008 - This is not an April Fool’s joke. Several independent tractor trailer drivers traveled in unison on I-285 in Metro Atlanta to protest high fuel prices. This was reportedly part of a nationwide protest.
Starting at a location forty miles north of Atlanta, a convoy of about thirty trucks grew in numbers as the drivers approached Atlanta. State Troopers reported there was nothing illegal about the protest or how the truckers were driving. The truckers want lawmakers to pass legislation to cut fuel taxes.
