On Wednesday, January 13, 2010, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Buddy West Road in Newnan, Georgia. According to the Georgia State Patrol, a Toyota Sequoia and a Chevrolet Aveo were involved. Christine Martin, twenty four years of age, resident of Newnan, Georgia, was the driver of the Aveo. Ms. Martin swerved to avoid something in the roadway and veered into the oncoming lane of traffic. Rhonda Posey, forty one years of age, also a resident of Newnan, Georgia was traveling in the Toyota Sequoia. Ms. Posey attempted to avoid Ms. Martin but was struck in the front of her vehicle. From the impact of the accident, Ms. Martin’s vehicle spun around and ended up in the middle of the road and Ms. Posey’s vehicle came to a rest halfway off the road.

The Coweta County Fire Department had to extricate Ms. Martin out of her vehicle. She was transported to Atlanta Medical Center. Ms. Posey did not receive any injuries as a result of the auto accident but her four-month old son suffered injuries and was transported to Children’s Hospital of Atlanta at Egleston.
