On Friday February 12, 2010 Carroll County Sheriff’s Office lost one of their own. Deputy Davy Wayne Crawford 54 of Bowdon was responding to a call when the dispatch office lost communications with him. According to the Georgia State Patrol, they believe the road conditions during the snow storm on Friday may be a contributing factor in this fatal one car accident. Mr Crawford had served with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office for 11 years and with Coweta County prior to that. Sheriff Terry Langley of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office notes the sadness throughout the department as each member is taking it personally. Crawford was a native of Carroll County where he and his family are respected and well known throughout the community.
