What to Do After Hit-and-Run Accident/ Example from Macon Pedestrian Collision

Hit-and-run accidents create many questions about claims and how to proceed with insurance companies in order to ensure that victims are compensated for their injuries.  Although uninsured motorist (UM) coverage can generally be used when filing a claim for an auto accident in which the at-fault driver fled the scene and cannot be found, some car accident victims need help recovering the compensation they seek and have questions as to which actions to take immediately.  A Macon area vehicle-pedestrian accident this morning, for example, may have raised questions regarding the rights of the woman who was struck.  According to Liz Fabian of the Macon.com website, police are still searching for the young male driver who fled the accident scene after hitting the female pedestrian with his vehicle on Crescent Avenue in Macon.  Although no visible injuries were apparent, the woman was taken by ambulance to The Medical Center of Central Georgia for her condition to be determined.

If you or a loved one has been involved in a similar accident or vehicle-pedestrian collsion and want to know what your rights are and how to proceed, please feel free to call us at 770-577-3020 with any questions you may have.  In accidents involving hit-and-run drivers, the actions you take following a crash can affect the amount of compensation you may receive should you choose to file a claim.  If you have been hit by a driver who fled the scene, click here to order our free booklet, "Mistakes to Avoid If You Want to Win Your Car Wreck Case."  There is no fee and no obligation.
