Wife Dies After Husband Falls Asleep Behind the Wheel
A woman was killed in Atkinson County, Georgia last night (September 26) after it was said that her husband fell asleep while driving. According to an article by Delivrine Registre of WALB News, the fatal accident happened just north of WIllacoochee, Georgia, at about 1:30am on Ice Plant Road. The south Georgia woman killed was sixty-six-year-old Maria Contreras. She died when her car overturned after leaving the roadway. Ms. Contreras' husband was transported to the local regional medical center in Coffee County with non-life threatening injuries.
