A man was riding his bicycle on Roswell Road around 7:00 a.m. when he was hit from behind. The woman who hit him was charged with homicide by vehicle in the 2nd degree, following too closely, and failure to safely pass a bicycle, which became a new law on July 1, 2011. She was arrested and sent to Doraville Jail where her bond was set at $10,000.00.

The new House Bill 101, nicknamed the ,"Better Bicycling Bill" requires a motorist to remain three feet from a cyclist when passing. If a motorist is unable to safely pass using these regulations then he/she must follow safely behind the cyclist until it is safe to pass. This new law went into effect on July 1, 2011.
