Fractured Forearm From Car Accident

This client was diagnosed with an oblique comminuted fracture of the left forearm after being involved in a car accident. Oblique fractures are one of the least common forms of fractures and refer to an oblique break in the bone, meaning the break is at an angle (which is a very unstable type of break). The term "comminuted fracture" also refers to an extremely unstable type of bone fracture because it means that more than two fragments of bone have broken off the area. Our client also underwent open reduction internal fixation, which is open surgery to set bones and fixate screws to facilitate healing of the fracture.
