If you have been involved in a car accident in which you experienced severe pain, swelling, obvious differences between the injured arm and the other, lack of mobility, and/ or some loss of feeling, you should consult a medical professional immediately. Many victims of car accidents suffer from what is commonly referred to as a cracked rib or ribs. Defined by physicians as a rib fracture, the injury refers to what Web MD calls “a crack or break in one of the bones of the rib cage.” According to the Web MD website, even if you do not actually have a broken bone in the rib, a break in the cartilage surrounding the ribs is also often referred to as a rib fracture. Not surprisingly, the most common cause of the injury is direct, sudden pressure on the chest (as occurring in car accidents). Because having a rib fracture could also mean that you have injured your lungs, blood vessels, or spleen, you must consult a doctor immediately upon injury. Since the ribs protect your organs beneath them and allow you to breathe, even minor rib cage injuries can be extremely painful. Several people have hired me recently who were injured in truck and car accidents that occurred due to the at-fault parties using cell phones while driving. According to the institute, recent research finds cell phone use while driving the most common cause of automobile accidents. Our law firm handles car accident cases. When traveling in a car it’s as if you are anonymous, so it is easy to give into road rage or become a victim. Speeding, blocking access to a lane, shouting, rude gestures, and getting cut off are just a few of the many common causes of road rage. Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) & Nerve Damage
- Symptoms of Brain Injury
Since your brain sends signals to the rest of your body to function properly (including the way you move, think, feel, and act), symptoms of a brain injury can vary from cognitive to more physical types. Often appearing soon after a trauma or blow to the head, many symptoms of brain injuries exist in noticeable ways. On the other hand, some cases of brain injury result in more subtle symptoms, making it difficult even for the injured person to notice the warning signs of brain injury. If you have suffered a brain injury due to an accident that was no fault of your own, call 770-577-3020 for a free consultation and evaluation of your case. - Brain Injuries
Like a fingerprint, every brain is different. Brain injuries can be just as unique. They can be severe or mild, permanent or temporary, sudden or develop some time after a trauma. An individual with a brain injury may not realize that he/she has one or may ignore the damage that can be caused by a concussion, a blow from a trauma or accident, or even from the heat. Brain injuries are also commonly referred to as Traumatic Brain Injuries, recognizing the fact that many brain injuries are the result of a trauma or an accident in which the head or brain receives an impact, such as during a car accident. The brain, however, does not need to be struck in order to suffer damage. If you believe there is the possibility that you have suffered brain damage, and that it is due to the actions of another, call our office at (770)-577-3020 for a free analysis of your case.
Spinal Cord Injuries
- Back Pain, Be Gone! Important Information for Back Pain Sufferers
One of the most reported injuries of car accident victims is back pain. Though many causes of back pain exist, any kind of accident involving trauma to the body can severely affect the condition of one’s back. Before, during, and after you experience intense or even moderate levels of back pain, you should follow some important guidelines and steps to ensure that your back becomes as healthy and as strong as possible. - Broken Neck (Cervical Fracture) Information
More properly referred to as a cervical fracture, a broken neck can be an extremely dangerous injury. In order for vertebrae to become fractured, significant force must be applied to the area, which is why traffic accidents and falls are the most common causes of cervical fractures. Our law firm handles spinal cord injury and neck injury cases. If you have been injured in a car accident or another accident that was not your fault, call us at 770-577-3020 for answers to your important questions. We will gladly consult with you for free regarding your potential case. - Spinal Cord Injuries
In the United States, there are about eleven-thousand (11,000) individuals who suffer from spinal cord injuries every year. Some people can recover and go on with their lives, while other victims may be permanently paralyzed. The spinal cord moves nerve impulses between the brain and the rest of the body. Often the victim of a spinal cord injury is physically and emotionally drained, but his or her personal finances can also be affected because of costly medical care. Some individuals will also experience other problems such as pain, respiratory and heart problems, pressure sores, or spasticity and scoliosis. If you have suffered or are suffering from a spinal cord injury, call us at 770-577-3020 for a free consultation. - Neck and Back Injuries: Herniated Disc
Many sufferers of neck and back pain suffer from a herniated disc (sometimes spelled "disk"). Often referred to as a "slipped disc" or "ruptured disc," the injury can even cause pain in the arms and legs, and some victims of herniated discs require surgery in order to heal completely. Though others may only require minor treatment, the pain caused from a herniated disc can, at times, be extremely difficult to bare. Our law firm handles car accident cases, worker’s compensation cases, and other types of personal injury cases resulting from accidents that led to spinal cord injuries.
