  • "The best part about having James Murphy as my workers' compensationlawyer is that I have someone to speak for me..."
  • The initial phone call made me feel as though they really cared. They made us feel like a number, and Murphy & Associates didn't. My wife and I have never gone through something like this before and accidents can be devastating to a family because of loss of income, pain and suffering.
  • Murphy & Associates made my experience fast and easy, and got the job done.
  • Murphy & Associates Car Accident Law firm is professional, efficient, and a pleasant experience doing business with.
  • I was involved in a rear-end collision while stopped at a red light. Mr. Murphy and his staff guided me through this long process from obtaining medical treatment to settling with the other party's insurance company.

Proper Car Seat Installation to Protect Your Baby in Car Accidents

Using and installing car seats properly for child passengers is a requirement in Georgia; however, according to NBC Augusta, officers "say most parents don’t strap their kids in the correct way," which results in the risk of injury to babies and children when car accidents occur. In fact, child safety seats have come loose during accidents due to improper installation, sometimes ejecting the child and leading to serious injury, says Jones T. Bowen, coordinator of the recent National Seat Check Saturday that took place in Aiken, S.C. To help you ensure that you are protecting your baby from being hurt in a car accident, the NBC Augusta website has posted the following safety seat tips (summarized and paraphrased here):

1. Keep infants in rear-facing child safety seats in your vehicle’s back seat until they reach the height or weight limit of the seat. Infants should face the rear until they are at least 20 pounds or 1 year of age.

2. After a child has outgrown the rear-facing seat, put him or her in the back seat of your vehicle in a child safety seat that faces forward until they reach the maximum weight or height of that car seat.

3. Booster seats should be installed in the back seat of your vehicle once your children have outgrown the front-facing safety seats. Use boosters until the seat belts of your vehicle fit your children properly.

4. Once booster seats are no longer needed, children should remain in the back seat and use adult seat belts.
