According to Atlanta police, a city engineer was driving an employee vehicle on Marietta Street at Andrew Young International Boulevard when he was struck from behind by another car. The driver who hit the employee vehicle, also struck a motorcyclist. The engineer had to be extricated from his vehicle, and was then taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. He died the following day.

The driver who hit the city vehicle was cited for following too closely.
