Driver Killed in Fatal East Cobb Car Accident on Johnson Ferry Road

Posted on May 30, 2011

May 30, 2011 - East Cobb County, GA - The driver of a car that failed to yield to oncoming traffic on Johnson Ferry Road passed away from serious injuries sustained in a 2-vehicle crash.

The news report from East Cobb Patch states that Ezatolah Mamaghani, 85, died one day after the May 4, 2011 accident. Mamaghani was driving his 2011 Acura sedan southbound on Johnson Ferry Road when he attempted to make a left turn at the Princeton Lakes Drive intersection.

Mamaghani failed to yield to the northbound traffic and was struck by a 2003 Toyota Highlander driven by Thomas Haltorm, 55. According to Cobb County Police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce, Haltom was released at the scene after refusing medical treatment while Mamaghani was transported to Northside Hospital where he died the next day.

Police say charges are not expected to be filed.

Failure to yield and other traffic violations are often important components in a car accident injury claim. You need to remain at the scene and provide honest answers to police officers to have an accurate accident report generated. This report can be critical evidence when filing a car accident claim for damages you sustained in a crash.
