Lamar Hunton Memorial Ride Raises Money for GA Youth Home

October 2011 - Paulding County, GA - This fall has been full of the rumble of hundreds of motorcycles, thanks to the 8^th Annual Lamar Hunton Memorial Ride.

On September 17^th a parade of bikers of all kinds rolled down the streets from the Paulding County Senior Center to take part in the in the 8^th Annual Lamar Hunton Memorial Ride. Former sheriff Bruce Harris started the ride in partnership between the sheriffs of Polk and Haralson County who were all interested in raising money for the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes.

The ride was named in honor of former jail administrator Lamar Hunton who had passed away 2 days before the first run. Since then, the tri-county event has generated funds to support youth homes, which provide shelter and care for neglected and abused children of Georgia.
