According to authorities, a wreck involving two cars and two tractor-trailers occurred while they traveling northbound on I-75 in Cobb County, on Monday morning. Investigators with the Marietta police believe that one car hydroplaned, due to the heavy rains, and hit the median. This caused a chain reaction to occur, involving one other car and two 18-wheel tractor trailers to crash.

After colliding with another tractor-trailer, a tanker truck containing propane tipped over. None of the propane leaked, but the threat of a major spill concerned those who responded to the emergency. Emergency workers then worked throughout the day to upright the tanker. Because of the accident, lanes of I-75, going both north and south, were closed throughout the day. According to the WSB radio traffic center, gridlock cause traffic pile-ups on Cobb Parkway as commuters sought an alternate route home.

Only one minor injury was reported and the driver that caused the wreck was cited by the Marietta Police.
