DeKalb County Accident Becomes Chain-Reaction Crash on I-285 This Afternoon
Description: The westbound lanes of Atlanta’s I-285 in DeKalb County closed early this morning (Friday, September 26) after a chain-reaction accident that began when a woman crashed her vehicle into the interstate’s median wall and sustained injuries. According to the CBS 46 website, the initial Atlanta crash occurred at approximately 3:30a.m. A pickup truck then slammed into a police cruiser while police were investigating the accident, resulting in a multi-vehicle wreck in which two or more tractor-trailers and several cars collided. Description: According to the Augusta Chronicle, 78-year-old Henry Ashley Wynn of Augusta, Georgia, died Thursday (September 25) after a car accident that injured at least one other person. Three Sent to Hospital After Gainesville Wreck on Cleveland Highway

Five Sent to Hospital After Golf Cart Accident
Description: According to The Lincoln Journal online, five were injured when a car crashed into a golf cart on Thomson Highway (Highway 43) in Lincoln County, Georgia. In a report from the Georgia State Patrol, the golf cart was said to be traveling from a private drive to cross Highway 43 when it was hit by a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The driver of the Chevrolet, 29-year-old Steven Fendley, saw the golf cart but was unable to stop his vehicle in time to avoid a collision. Suspect Injured in Car Accident After Coweta County Police Chase
Description: A police chase on I-85 in Coweta County early this morning (Wednesday, September 17) culminated in an accident that temporarily shut down the interstate. Two High Schools Students Injured in Crash with School Bus Outside East Dublin, Georgia
Description: According to The Courier Herald online, two students from East Laurens High School sustained injuries in an accident with a school bus yesterday morning (Tuesday, September 16). Jerry Hatcher, the Laurens County School Superintendent, stated that the two students were in a private vehicle when the school bus (with no passengers in it) and their vehicle collided at the intersection of Ernest Stinson Rd. and Highway 80 outside East Dublin. According to the report, the driver’s side door was apparently hit by the bus. Both students were taken to the hospital after the wreck. The Georgia State Patrol is still investigating the accident. Cracked Rib/ Fractured Ribs
Description: Many victims of car accidents suffer from what is commonly referred to as a cracked rib or ribs. Defined by physicians as a rib fracture, the injury refers to what Web MD calls “a crack or break in one of the bones of the rib cage.” According to the Web MD website, even if you do not actually have a broken bone in the rib, a break in the cartilage surrounding the ribs is also often referred to as a rib fracture. Good Samaritan Helps Police Capture Hit-and-Run Driver
Description: In Dawson County earlier this week a good samaritan helped local police apprehend a hit-and-run driver who struck a five-year-old boy who was attempting to get on a school bus. The driver left the scene, but a woman who witnessed the incident followed the driver, called 911 and helped police capture the driver. According to police, the driver may never have been caught without the help of the woman.
