Car Accidents
Each year there are over 6 million car crashes in America. These accidents result in about 3 million serious injuries and over 40,000 deaths annually. In Georgia alone, over 1,600 people die behind the wheel each year.
And the impact doesn’t stop with just our injuries. Motor vehicle accidents cause almost $8 billion a year in damages. The hospital bills from a single accident can be enough to put a family in debt for years if they do not have adequate insurance. Sometimes even your own insurance company will turn its back on you following an accident, denying coverage or limiting benefits. James Murphy is experienced in dealing with insurance companies who try to do this. After 16 years of practice, Mr. Murphy knows all of the tricks the insurance companies use to try to deny benefits and, more importantly, knows how to avoid them in order to get you your money.
Georgia only requires that drivers carry 25/50/25 insurance. This means that it is legal for drivers in Georgia to carry insurance policies that will pay out as little as $25,000 for a single injury or $50,000 for all injuries in an accident. If the other driver has minimum insurance coverage and his negligence causes you to be in the hospital for any extended period of time, his insurance will not fully cover your injuries.
All of these things can make a car accident one of life’s most stressful experiences. James Murphy does not want you to face this time alone. Mr. Murphy wants to take care of the legal side of your car accident while you and your family make a full and fast recovery. By allowing Murphy & Associates to handle your claim against the insurance companies and the other driver, you will have some of the stress of this time taken off of your shoulders.
If you or your loved ones have been injured in a car accident, please call Murphy & Associates at (770)577-3020 or email James Murphy at murphylawfirm@bellsouth.net.
James Murphy has been fighting car insurance companies both in and out of the courtroom for years. His experience will help you recover for your injuries and get you back on your feet. Murphy & Associates are located near the Douglas County Courthouse and has successfully represented seriously injured individuals throughout West Georgia, including clients in Douglasville, Hiram, Bremen, Lithia Springs, Dallas, Tallapoosa, Carrollton, Douglas County, Paulding County, Haralson County, and Carroll County.

Description: Several people have hired me recently who were injured in truck and car accidents that occurred due to the at-fault parties using cell phones while driving. According to the Insurance Information Institute, at least two dangers arise from using cell phones (for calls or text messaging) while driving. First of all, dialing requires drivers to take their eyes off the roadways. Second, phone calls cause drivers to focus on their conversations rather than concentrate on driving, putting the safety of drivers, passengers, and pedestrians at-risk. According to the institute, recent research finds cell phone use while driving the most common cause of automobile accidents. Our law firm handles car accident cases. Description: Many victims of car accidents suffer from what is commonly referred to as a cracked rib or ribs. Defined by physicians as a rib fracture, the injury refers to what Web MD calls “a crack or break in one of the bones of the rib cage.” According to the Web MD website, even if you do not actually have a broken bone in the rib, a break in the cartilage surrounding the ribs is also often referred to as a rib fracture. Not surprisingly, the most common cause of the injury is direct, sudden pressure on the chest (as occurring in car accidents). Because having a rib fracture could also mean that you have injured your lungs, blood vessels, or spleen, you must consult a doctor immediately upon injury. Since the ribs protect your organs beneath them and allow you to breathe, even minor rib cage injuries can be extremely painful.
