In January, 2010, while walking through the parking lot toward the office building where I work, I was hit by a car entering the parking lot.  I sustained an injury to my right knee and my head, was taken to the emergency room, treated and released.  After returning home and feeling substantial pain from my knee injury, I also began to experience dizziness from the head injury.  Knowing I was facing several doctor appointments for my knee with physical therapy and neurologist appointments for the dizziness; I instintively knew it would not be a good idea for me to struggle with, not only my own insurance company, but with the insurance of the owner of the car that hit me, for payments of the claims to come. On the advice and recommendation of a friend, I made an appointment and talked with Mr. Murphy and explained what happened.  I was very impressed with his relaxed demeanor and how understanding and genuine he was.  Needless to say, his whole staff was always very professional and helpful; and in particular his Legal Assistant Hannah Field, was always very attentive, patient and understanding.  The case has just settled with positive results. In January 2010 during the ice storm, I was attempting to help a vehicle from a ditch on I-20, when another vehicle could not stop and hit me.  I suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized. After returning home from a family vacation, I went to pick up my truck from a local repair facility and discovered it was stolen from the shop. It was an older truck which we only held liability insurance on the vehicle. Dear Mr. Murphy,

I was injured on my job and it turned out to be very serious. I was quite shocked and hurt after dealing with the company doctors and insurance company that portrayed my injuries as not serious and told me to go home and rest for about one or two weeks and come back on light duty, and that my pain was not really bad. I then felt like I was just a number and not a hurt patient. A very close friend told me that I needed to get a lawyer. I took his advice, while looking in the yellow pages, I saw many attorney’s names and I began to ask God to help me pick the right one. I came across Mr. Murphy and it stuck with me and got my attention and it was also close to my home. I called and set up an appointment with Mr. Murphy, and I had a good feeling when I walked in. Mr. Murphy seemed relaxed, laid back but I could tell he was a go getter and that is what made me want him to take my case and sure enough he told me that he would start on the case. Mr. Murphy was awesome, and he had a relaxed demeanor and very aggressive on my case. After work I received a great settlement along with further testing regarding my injuries. Mr. Murphy made sure I got the proper treatment from the insurance company that I deserved. After being severely rear-ended which broke my seat back I was quite surprised when told in the emergency room that my pain was "nothing serious, go home and rest. It will be fine." I began to work with the insurance company on my own but was treated as if I were an idiot. A very close friend of mine and former client of Mr. Murphy spoke quite highly of his relaxed demeanor but aggressive handling of his case in which he received an incredible settlement. As Mr. Murphy suggested further testing on my back I discovered the simple tests performed by the emergency room were not capable of detecting the type of damage I sustained in the accident. As a result of his guidance and knowledge I now have received proper treatment and far more from the insurance company than I thought possible.

Having told Jim how little trust I have in lawyers I have to say that he made no promises he didn’t keep and even exceeded all my expectations.
